Precautions（注意事項）

Specific conditions for renting accommodation are printed in the contract. Be sure to review these thoroughly.

The usual contractual period is two years. If you wish to extend your contract, rent may be increased. Renting of part or the whole of the property to another party is not permissible.

Remodeling or repairing of the property in any way without the permission of the landlord is forbidden.

When terminating the contract in order to move, etc., before completion of the contract period, you must inform the landlord at a period of usually one to two months beforehand. In failing to do so, or informing the landlord only just before you move, you may forfeit the receipt of your deposit money.

Room size is expressed in terms of tatami mat size or jo. One jo is equal to 1.9mx0.9m. Land is expressed in tsubo.
One tsubo = 2 tatami = 3.3 m² = 35.58 ft²

　賃貸借契約書の中に、物件を借りるときの重要な項目が記載されていますので、その内容をよく確認しましょう。

　契約期間は、普通２年間です。契約を更新する場合は、家賃が上がることがあります。

　物件の一部又は全部を他人に貸してはいけません。

　家主の許可を得ないで改装してはいけません。

　引っ越しなどで、契約を解除したいときは、事前（通常１から２か月前）に家主に通知するようにしましょう。通知しないで退去したり、直前に通知をすると敷金が戻らないことがあります。

　アパートなどによっては、照明器具がついていないことがあります。

　部屋の広さは、畳の枚数で表され、畳１枚（１畳）は、約1.8ｍ×0.9ｍです。住宅地の広さは坪で表します。
